# Objectives

  1. To uncover changes in endothelial function and coagulation, as well as structural and functional abnormalities of erythrocytes in patients with long COVID.
2. To clarify the internal mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction in patients with long COVID in relation to the presence of cardiovascular comorbidities and cardiovascular long COVID symptoms.
3. To identify potential endothelial and erythrocyte biomarkers that may be associated with the pathophysiology of long COVID.
4. To clarify the relationship between changes in endothelial integrity and inflammation, oxidative stress, and dysregulated coagulation system in patients with long COVID.
5. To better understand the complex interplay between endothelial cells and erythrocytes in patients with long COVID, as well as healthy controls and controls with cardiovascular diseases.
6. To identify potential RNA biomarkers (Nrf2 target genes) in blood that could help in diagnosing long COVID or determining its severity.
7. To clarify the role of AMPK signaling in the pathogenesis of long COVID.
8. To clarify which factors in acute infection are associated with the development of long COVID.
9. To contribute to understanding the reasons why acute infections progress to chronic diseases in certain situations.
